BackPack Program Offers More Than Food to Kids

BackPack Program Offers More Than Food to Kids

A young, shy, student at Maple/Northwestern School received his first food

from our BackPack Program after his parents had suffered recent health

issues. He was bubbling with excitement as he picked it up. “Thank you,

this is great,” he kept quietly repeating.

It’s a story shared a hundred times. Students and staff connecting through

the BackPack Program.

“It’s a relationship builder,” said Jenny Forsythe, the At Risk and SchooltoWork

Coordinator, at his school. “When we hand out the food it’s an

opportunity to check in with our kids and to offer our support.”

We’re grateful for donors like you who help us not only provide weekend

food to over 1,000 children weekly as part of our BackPack Program, but

provide connections for children in 16 communities throughout NE

Minnesota and NW Wisconsin.

With your continued support we plan to expand our BackPack Program.  Every dollar you contribute will allow us to feed more children in need (THANK YOU!).
