Established in 1941 by Charles K. Blandin, the foundation was put in place to support Grand Rapids and surrounding areas leading to the “betterment of mankind.” Today, 83 years later, the original core mission still guides them, focusing on ensuring sustainable, equitable futures across rural Minnesota communities.

“We are proud to have supported Second Harvest Northland for decades,” said Tuleah Palmer, President and CEO of the Blandin Foundation. “Second Harvest centers their work in community, using innovation and resourcefulness to meet the need for food security in a huge geographic region,”

In alignment with our mission of working compassionately to end hunger by ensuring dignified and equitable access to food for our neighbors facing hunger, Tuleah stated, “The Blandin Foundation knows that it is critical to our regional quality of life that the immediate needs hunger is addressed, while we work together to address the root causes of food insecurity – be it good jobs or access to food.”
