Help us fill the plates of our Northland neighbors in need during this year’s Minnesota Grocer’s Association “Bag Hunger Campaign,” October 13-30.

Super One Foods is hosting a “Register Campaign” allowing you to donate $1, $3, $5, or rounding up your transaction at checkout. Participating stores include 23 locations throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin. Every $1 you donate will help us ensure 3 meals for families, children, and seniors in your local Super One Foods community.

“The Miner family and Super One Foods stores have been a proud supporter of Second Harvest for decades,” shares President/CEO Patrick Miner. “Your service within our Super One communities supports food shelves and neighbors experiencing food insecurity.”

With nearly 1/3 of all of our food donations arriving from outside our NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin service region, long-haul transportation is critical to our work. So when Halvor Lines, Inc., called us back in 2011 to see how they could support us, we jumped at the opportunity.

Each week, Halvor Lines transports a semi-load of donated product from the Twin Cities to Duluth for FREE. Since our partnership began, they’ve hauled more than 670 loads, traveled over 95,000 miles, and ensured more than 13.6 million meals for families, children and seniors in our area.

As CEO Jon Vinje shares, “It’s a great way to give back to the community and a natural fit for us, given the resources we have as a trucking company. I think everyone at Halvor Lines is proud to be working with Second Harvest, including our drivers.”
