“We couldn’t do what we do without you,” shares Executive Director of The BRICK Ministries, Liz Seefeldt.

As one of the 40 food shelf programs we supply with food, we couldn’t do our work or reach local neighbors without our partnership with The BRICK Ministries. For nearly 20 years our partnership has ensured hundreds of thousands of meals for families, children and seniors throughout Ashland and Bayfield Counties in rural NW Wisconsin.

The BRICK Ministries is a joint effort between its member churches, businesses and residents who share in the vision of helping people in need through their Food Shelf and Benevolence Program.

“Access to Second Harvest allows us to provide far greater quantity, quality and variety to our food shelf consumers,” shares Amaris Shrider, food shelf manager. “We’re able to provide items we wouldn’t have available such as coffee, produce, personal care products, snacks and more. Without you, there would be a huge impact on our ability to serve all of Bayfield and Ashland Counties. Our food would be reduced by as much as 40%.”

Your support of our work as the region’s only food bank helps us supply food to over 145 charitable feeding programs throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin. Together, you’re helping us and our partners end hunger in local communities.

June is National Dairy Month and as such, we would like to recognize Super One Foods, one of our largest regional donors overall and our largest donor of dairy products.

“The Miner Family and our family of Super One Foods stores have been proud to support you for decades,” shares President of Super One Foods and Second Harvest Board Member Patrick Miner. “Your team does a tremendous job serving regional food shelves and other partners that strive to meet their participants’ needs within their communities. Our region is fortunate to have a Food Bank that delivers leadership and a strong, positive track record in battling food insecurity.”

For more than two decades, Super One Foods has donated their surplus food and supported us financially, ensuring hundreds of thousands of meals for our NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin neighbors experiencing food insecurity. In addition to donating 460,508 pounds from their regional stores during the last year, 44% of their total donated product was fresh and wholesome dairy product, which provides essential nutrients to local children, families and seniors.

We’re so grateful for our partnership with Super One Foods in helping to supply almost 10,000 daily servings of dairy product each week.
