Compeer Financial has supported our food bank and others like us throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois for nearly a decade. As an organization that serves farmers who “work daily to feed the world,” they’ve made a commitment to our hunger-relief efforts ensuring countless neighbors have access to nutritious food.

“We value the work you do in our communities,” shares Karen Blatter-Schieler, Compeer Financial. “I continue to be in awe of all that your organization does and how you continue to rise to the challenges presented.”

Since our partnership began in 2013, Compeer Financial has donated nearly $70,000 and ensured more than 208,000 for families, children and seniors facing food insecurity in the Northland.

As Roberta pulled up to the holiday food distribution, her 9-year-old son Elijah sat in the back seat, a computer on this lap, doing his schoolwork. Meanwhile, her daughter, the bubbly, rambunctious 4-year-old Eliona, was charming the volunteers. “She loves being the center of attention,” Roberta laughs as Eilona pops out of the car, giggling and jumping around.

Roberta has a career in home healthcare, but needed a little extra help affording food at the holidays. She knew the food bank would be there for her, “This is going to help a lot,” she shares. “We’ll have this for the holiday and then have leftovers for a while too.”

Food from distributions like this allow Northland families like Roberta’s to make the holidays special for their families. Your support ensures holiday turkeys or hams for families, children and seniors visiting our Food Shelf and Mobile Food Pantry Programs. These meals are even more important this year as the cost of groceries make special meals prohibitive.

“I’m grateful for the food,” Roberta shares. “I’m just really thankful for all the blessings we have.”

We couldn’t provide holiday meals to family’s like Roberta’s without partners like you. Here’s a sampling of others who are generously supporting our hunger-relief work:
