A few times a year, we’re able to leverage a match for your generous support of our organization – much like our holiday season Joan M. Wismer Foundation match. But did you know that you have this ability too?

“My employer, Essentia Health, believes in making a healthy difference in the communities it serves,” shares Kate, who is able to leverage a match for her volunteer hours served. “My hope is that this additional support will provide even more nutritious food to our neighbors and even bring a little joy knowing people like me care.”

Many employers like Essentia Health, Maurices, United Healthcare, Minnesota Power and others offer a financial match for their associate’s cash and/or volunteer contributions. We encourage you to check with your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program. Your additional support could double, or even triple (when we offer a match), your impact feeding even more families, children and seniors throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin.

As our region’s “food bank” we touch nearly 50 communities throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin. Our role is partnering with your local food shelf or other charitable program, supplying nationally and regionally donated and purchased food to your community.

We’re fortunate to work with rock star partners like the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf led by Executive Director, Kelsey Dooley. Like many of our partners, they’re experiencing a 20% increase in demand this year. Rather than operate “business as usual,” they recently added evening distributions to their weekly schedule in coordination with our delivery arrival. “We wanted to provide more fresh produce and catch families who might otherwise be working during the day.”

Thanks to your support we’re providing enough food for 100,000 meals annually to the Two Harbors community in partnership with Kelsey’s amazing food shelf. “We get the ‘lions share’ of our food through you,” she shares with us. “We wouldn’t be able to exist without you. You’re pivotal to our reach and keeping our doors open.”
