Fresh Connect mobilizes trained volunteers who share their availability, log into an app on their mobile device, and are directed to pick up and deliver food donations throughout the Twin Ports.

Locally produced, fresh food is in abundance in our region. In fact, it makes up nearly 2/3 of the food we rescue and distribute each year. In an effort to rescue even more of this nutritious food and reduce the time between donation and distribution to our neighbors in need, we’re launching our new Fresh Connect program.

Fresh Connect mobilizes trained volunteers like you who share their availability, log into an app on their mobile device, and are directed to pick up and deliver food donations throughout the Twin Ports. Food donors include our local convenience stores, other retailers, restaurants/caterers, schools and more. Our recipients include local food shelves, on-site meals programs and our food bank.

Not only does this program ensure a fresher and more abundant supply of food for our neighbors, it reduces the amount of locally produced food that ends up in landfills. If you’d like to volunteer to help pilot our program, learn more below.
