So who is Joan M. Wismer and why did her foundation match your gifts? The foundation was established in 2001 by Joan herself, “she loved finding worthy programs, making grants and meeting new friends.” Joan learned this value of service and charity from her parents, who believed that “generosity is its own reward and a generous person is twice blessed.”
Joan has now passed but her legacy lives on through the generosity of her foundation and its trustees. As Susan, one of the trustees shares, “We love what you do.” Since 2018, the foundation has ensured 1,050,000 meals for our neighbors – not to mention all of the additional meals leveraged by your support.
