Landon is a typical bright-eyed third grader. He loves his science class at his Superior elementary school, and when he grows up, he wants to be a police officer. “I want to help my community,” he shares with a proud smile.
His mom, Leah, tries to provide the best for Landon on her single income as a mail carrier. “We make do,” she says. “But sometimes it’s hard to have a bowl of cereal again for dinner.”
Landon is able to access free lunch through his school meal program. But when schools close for the summer, Leah has to make other plans.
She recently learned from a friend about Faith Church Food Pantry, one of the agency partners you help us supply with wholesome food. Leah decided to give it a try.
She was thrilled to be able to take home clementines, tuna, ground turkey, yogurt, pasta and sauce and other hearty staples to feed her growing son.
“It’s a program that can help me so I’m not scrambling to put food on the table for my son,” she shares. “This means a lot to me and my family.”
We couldn’t provide nutritious food to our agency partners or families like Leah and Landon’s without partners like you. You’re joining with others who are generously supporting our hunger-relief work:
