Providing Hope in the New Year

Providing Hope in the New Year

“By the time I visited Second Harvest I was completely out of food and hadn’t eaten for days,” said Mary Grace.

A single mom of two young boys, Mary Grace recently shared a story all too familiar with our food shelf volunteers. “I’d rather not eat so my kids have something on their plates.”

Right now, 12% of our Northland neighbors are struggling with food insecurity, including working parents like Mary Grace. But thanks to your donations, we can provide access to food so that every member of the family has a nutritious meal on their plate.

Now, with the help of your contributions, Mary Grace has hope for a brighter New Year. “I appreciate every single thing the food bank has done for my family. I plan to volunteer this year; it’s my way of saying thank you for all the support.”
