Despite closures, virtual learning and navigating challenges brought about by Covid-19, teachers and school staff are continuing to ensure nutritious meals for children as part of our BackPack Program.
“I don’t like that we have so many that need food in our community,” shares Brooke Trettin, Ashland Public Schools. “But we’re just so happy that we’re able to provide BackPack Program meals to families, above and beyond what our school’s food service is able to provide.”
Like many of our school partners, Ashland distributes our BackPack Program food curbside, along with school meals being provided to local families. We are so grateful for Brooke and our other school “heroes” who have ensured more than 95,000 weekend meals for children since the pandemic began.
