Shannon works hard to care for her son. She takes pride in the fact she’s worked since she was 14. More recently diabetes has interfered causing long-term nerve damage to her leg, which is forcing her to cut back. Some months can get particularly tight as she pulls together every resource she has to pay her bills.

“I don’t know what we would do without you,” shares Shannon at our Mobile Food Pantry Program in Hurley, WI. “Winter is always the hardest and we’re so thankful we have a place where we know we can get extra food.”

Shannon took to social media to share her good experience. “I love sharing with the community how special the food bank is and all you have done for us,” she says. As she pulls away with her minivan full of food, her smile conveys her gratitude as she waves to our volunteers.
