Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank rescues and distributes food through
its network of regional non-profit agency partners and own direct service programs.

Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank (SHNLFB) rescues nationally and regionally donated food from manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and growers.  Much of this nutritious food passes through our 24,000 square foot distribution center in Duluth before being distributed to 180 charitable feeding programs throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin.

These programs include our network of non-profit agency partners (food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs) and our own direct service programs which directly feed the hungry.

Our agency partners are able to order the foods that are right for their programs.  Most of this food is delivered to their door by our fleet of five refrigerated trucks that travel through our eight-county, 20,000+ square mile service region.

Each year we distribute over 6.4 million pounds of food, or enough food for 5.1 million meals, which feed approximately 44,000 of our Northland neighbors in need.
