Food insecurity can have dire health consequences on seniors.  The likelihood of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and even depression increase when healthy and nutritious food isn’t regularly available.

Our Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) provides a solution to hunger for seniors in need.

Wholesome, shelf-stable foods like fruits, vegetables, cereal, meat and dairy items are made available by USDA.  Volunteers pack the monthly menu of items into boxes which are distributed to nearly 30 sites throughout NE Minnesota.

Income eligible Minnesota seniors, over age 60, who are qualified for our program are able to pick up their food in person or assign a proxy to act on their behalf.

“NAPS fills in the gaps.  We receive fruits and vegetables.  I don’t know what we’d do without it.”
Nancy and Harold, Virginia, MN

Each year thanks to people like you, an important meal gap is filled by more than 292,000 meals which are provided to seniors as part of our NAPS program.
