Shaye Moris’ passion for charitable work stemmed from parents who taught her the value of helping others. A Twin Ports native, Shaye has led Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank (SHNLFB) since 1998.
Under her guidance, SHNLFB’s food distribution has increased from less than 1 million to over 4.7 million nutritious meals annually through a network of 180 charitable feeding programs throughout the Northland.
“I believe that hunger is a solvable issue in our lifetime. USDA estimates as much as 40% of food produced in the U.S. is thrown away as waste. With the support of food and financial donors, volunteers, and agency partners we have the ability to rescue food and make it available to the thousands of families, children and seniors who struggle with hunger in our NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin service region. We, along with federal nutrition and other safety net programs, have the potential to end hunger.”
Shaye serves as a trustee of the Northland Foundation and a board member of the University of WI-Superior Foundation and Feeding Wisconsin. She has held past leadership roles with the Lake Superior Fundraising Executives (LSFRE), Twin Ports Area Non-Profit Coalition, Hunger Solutions Minnesota and Feeding America.
Kevin Bryant joined Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank (SHNLFB) as Operations Director in June 2004.
