“Summer is tough,” said Jared, a single dad of an elementary-aged boy.  “My son goes to an afternoon summer program and an evening daycare while I’m at work. That helps, because I know he’s eating.”

Jared, like many Northland parents, are faced with finding additional meals when school lets out and children are missing their federally subsidized school lunch.

Fortunately, your generosity ensures children have access to snacks and meals at our Food Shelf, Mobile Food Pantry Program and our non-profit program partners throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin.

“Having good food during the summer means I don’t have to worry,” said Jared. “We love all the fresh fruits and vegetables. I can make omelets—his favorite.”
